"I'm writing to report great success using Fastfoot®. I first became interested in Fastfoot® because I wasn't too thrilled about the industry practice of using 2x10's first for the footing and then later in the construction of the house. In addition to the benefits of curing and moisture protection, I saw another benefit: As an owner-builder doing most of the work myself, I quickly realized it was a lot easier lugging around 2x4's than it would have been 2x10's. Also, once the screed boards were in place (but before the fabric was down) I could easily clean out any high spots with a shovel.
The reactions I've received from many of the 'older' construction types range from skepticism to incredulity. However, others were more curious and wanted to see if the system held. I'm happy to report that it did! The concrete pour went without any issues--nothing came even close to blowing out. I'm especially glad the fabric keeps the concrete from drying too quickly because the nice Pacific Northwest summer weather arrived on time this year and it's forecasted to be sunny and dry all week.
