-
How heavy are Fastbags®?
Extremely light. One 30" Fastbag® weights 6.5 ounces -
the equivalent lumber weighs over 150 times as much.
-
Do you need to strip the
Fastbags?
No, they are left in place, eliminating the costs of recycling and
lumber disposal, and preventing dampness from rising up into the
concrete.
-
How much time does it take to install a Fastbag®?
Seconds. Position the bag on the ground, drive a screed stake in the
center to hold it in position, and fill with concrete.
-
How expensive are the Fastbags®?
Fastbags® are approximately 1/4 the cost of forming lumber, and
forming and stripping costs are eliminated.
-
Can the Fastbags® be filled off the ready mix truck?
Yes, or use a concrete pump (place the hose inside the bag and
'blow' up the bag like an air mattress).
-
How deep can you pour a
Fastbag®?
Each size of Fastbag® is designed to be filled to a specific height as
per this size table. For example
a 24" Fastbag®, when filled with 8" of concrete, will provide a 24"
footprint. The bag can be filled more or less than the 8", however this
will change the area of the footprint. If the bag is filled to 10", the
contact width will be reduced to about 22". If the bag is filled to 6",
the contact width will increase to about 26".
-
Do Fastbags® prevent rising damp?
Yes. Fastbags® are made from a coated polyethylene, thereby preventing moisture wicking into the
concrete.
