CONCRETE HOME NEWS (January 1999)
A new footing system that drastically reduces field labor and
materials is being marketed by FAB-FORM INDUSTRIES LTD. of Surrey, British Columbia, as an
ideal companion to insulating concrete form (ICF) walls. The forms are made of fabric and
stay in place after the concrete hardens. When placing a wall footing, pairs of 2x4s are
placed flat in reusable steel yokes. The fabric form they call Fastfoot® is stapled
to the top of the lumber and filled with concrete. For column footings, a
rectangular
fabric bag is place on the ground and filled with concrete. For more information contact
