Capturing significant market share with a paradigm
shifting product requires two separate periods:

Awareness Period: This
is the incubation period where the contractor must
become aware of the product for a sufficient
length of time that he subconsciously
perceives the product has some 'merit'. He
must 'get comfortable' with the idea of the
technology.

Conversion Period: This is when a
compelling event or series of events force
the contractor to 'convert'.
The event can be economic, schedule driven,
or a combination of both.
